Materials:

Small amount of 4-ply, varigated (or solid) yarn
H crochet hook
Darning needle

Pattern:

Rnd 1: Ch 5 (counts as 1 dc and ch 1 sp), dc in 5th ch from hook, ch 1, *dc in same st, ch 1, repeat from * 10 times. Sl st to 4th ch of beginning dc (12 dcs).

Rnd 2: Sl st in next ch 1 sp, ch 3, dc in same sp, ch 1, *sl st in next ch 1 sp, 2 dcs in same sp, ch 1, repeat from * around, sl st to 1st dc.

Rnd 3: Sl st in next dc and in next ch sp. Ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 3, *sc in next ch 1 sp, ch 3, repeat from * around. Sl st to 1st sc.

Rnd 4: Sl st in next ch 3 sp, ch 3, 2 dc, 1 hdc, sl st all in ch 3 loop. Sl st in next ch 3 sp, ch 3, 2 dc, 1 hdc, sl st, repeat from * around. Sl st in 1st ch of beginning ch 3. End off.

Weave in all ends.
